General questions

Understanding the fundamentals of executive coaching and how it differs from other forms of professional development.

Executive coaching is a structured, one-on-one partnership between a professionally trained coach and a senior leader, emerging executive or high-potential manager. Unlike mentoring, which is typically advice-driven, coaching is a facilitated process of self-discovery, reflection and action planning. Your coach asks powerful questions, provides honest feedback and holds you accountable to the goals you set. Sessions typically last sixty to ninety minutes and are held fortnightly, either in person at our Gemmafort office or via secure video call. Between sessions, you will work on specific actions, experiments and reflections that build momentum towards your objectives.
Our coaching programmes are designed for anyone in a leadership role or on the path to one. This includes C-suite executives, general managers, department heads, board members, founders and senior individual contributors who influence strategic decisions. We also work with high-potential professionals who have been identified for accelerated development within their organisations. You do not need to be experiencing a crisis to benefit — many of our clients are already performing well and simply want to reach the next level of impact and fulfilment.
Therapy typically focuses on healing past wounds and addressing clinical mental health conditions. Consulting involves an expert diagnosing problems and prescribing solutions. Coaching sits in a different space: it is future-focused and assumes you are resourceful and capable. Your coach helps you clarify what you want, identify what is getting in the way, and develop strategies to move forward. We do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions, and we do not tell you what to do. Instead, we help you think more clearly, make better decisions and take more intentional action. If clinical support is needed, we will refer you to an appropriate professional.
Most of our standard engagements run for twelve to twenty-four weeks, with sessions held every two weeks. This gives enough time to establish trust, identify patterns, experiment with new approaches and embed lasting change. For leaders navigating a specific transition — such as a new role, a restructure or a high-stakes project — we offer intensive six-week programmes with weekly sessions. We also provide ongoing retainer arrangements for clients who want a long-term thinking partner. The right duration depends on your goals, and we will recommend the best option during your complimentary discovery call.

Practical details

Logistics, pricing and what to expect before, during and after your coaching journey.

Each session begins with a brief check-in where you share what is top of mind. Together, we agree on the focus for the session — this might be a specific challenge you are facing, a decision you need to make, or a skill you want to develop. The coach then guides the conversation using a blend of powerful questioning, active listening, reframing and, where appropriate, direct feedback. Towards the end, we identify concrete actions you will take before the next session. Sessions are held either face-to-face at our office in Gemmafort or via a secure video conferencing platform, depending on your preference and location.
Our pricing varies depending on the programme you choose and the level of support included. A standard twelve-session engagement typically ranges from $6,500 to $12,000 AUD, inclusive of pre-engagement assessment, all coaching sessions, between-session support via email, and a post-engagement review. We offer transparent, fixed-fee packages so there are no surprises. Many of our clients have their coaching funded by their employer as part of a professional development budget. We are happy to provide a proposal that you can share with your organisation. Please contact us for a detailed quote tailored to your needs.
Absolutely. Confidentiality is a non-negotiable foundation of every coaching relationship at ExecVision Journey. Nothing you share in sessions is disclosed to your employer, your board, your colleagues or anyone else without your explicit written consent. When an organisation sponsors the coaching, we agree upfront on what high-level themes may be shared — for example, general progress towards agreed goals — but the specific content of your conversations remains completely private. This creates the psychological safety you need to be truly open, honest and vulnerable in your coaching sessions.
Yes. We work with clients across Australia and internationally via secure video conferencing. Remote sessions are just as effective as in-person meetings — research consistently shows that the quality of the coaching relationship matters far more than the medium. Many of our clients prefer the flexibility of virtual sessions, which eliminate travel time and make it easier to fit coaching into a busy executive schedule. If you are based in or near Gemmafort, you are also welcome to meet in person at our office.
All coaches at ExecVision Journey hold internationally recognised coaching credentials, including certifications from the International Coaching Federation at the Professional Certified Coach level or above. In addition, our coaches have postgraduate qualifications in organisational psychology, business administration or related fields. Most importantly, every coach on our team has significant real-world leadership experience — they have sat in the chair you sit in, navigated the pressures you face, and understand the complexities of leading in today's environment. This combination of formal training and lived experience is what makes our coaching so practical and impactful.
